Our #letter to #Animals #Australia!!!!

Dear Animals and Humans behind this awesome site and project… we were told by our Guardians Adam Totoro and Evelyn Vedrana that it would be wise and helpfull for everyone involved to share our wonderful and rewarding campaign on a crowd funding platform with you… today we are passing through 13th day of our already enormously sucessful campaign… we have collected 25% of the goal ( that we will stretch when we achieve it) and we have helped already through our network and the awesome and loving hands of Mr. Dragan, five dogs who needed wheelchair because of their current health condition. Please read below two links:
one on the project site and one on the Facebook page dedicated to update everyone on the project and to network with success any wheelchair that we manage to get through this campaign… we are helping dogs and cats but we are open to help any other animal in need as i am sure out there we can together find more tools like our wheelchair that can save and improve lives of our Animal guardians Love from Europe (this campaign is run by the team spreading from Ireland to Croatia and Serbia

thank you for taking your time to get to know us… Love from Adam’s Dream Team

Why Wheelchair?

This is a Doggy Wheelchair!!! It helps dogs with severe injuries run again and enjoy the play outside… 10881678_338805959632258_6862610134110125721_n It is made by an amazing gentleman from Zemun, Serbia and you can check his website KOLICA ZA PSE! Each wheelchair is custom made according to the measurements of a dog and some are even made for cats… 🙂 Also have a look at the gallery of photos on the website And you will see Mr. Dragan’s dog Mica as she was the first one to get custom made wheelchair and then the word spread and he started making them for others. 🙂 mica1m in next post

From Rijeka to Grenoble in 26 hours

I decided to move to France, after visiting country and my friends for several times during past year and a half. Evelyn and I took another long trip to get to Grenoble from Rijeka, where we visited my sister 🙂

2014-02-15 11.57.342014-02-15 11.57.47So here is how the trip went.

We were gonna start by taking a train to Slovenia and then hitchhiking to Italy, but train was not going due to some issues with the lines, instead they had a bus taking us to our destination in Slovenia. We were lucky that they let Evelyn on as usually they wouldn’t allow dogs on board.
At that point I felt that the trip will go smoothly as it started so well 🙂

2014-02-15 15.01.21We met three interesting girls from France on the bus who fully enjoyed two days they spent in Rijeka and after an engaging conversation we went out in Postojna, where we walked to the hitchhiking spot I knew from on of my previous trips.

It took only ten minutes before a car picked us up, mum and her daughter who were taking a plane in few hours to go for a weekend in Paris, that’s what I would call synchronicity 🙂

2014-02-15 15.43.11They were kind and dropped us directly to the Slovenian-Italian border where we got another ride in a short time. This time we only went few kilometers to Trieste where I planned to board the train.

2014-02-15 16.33.022014-02-15 16.44.18We had a short break for food and beer 🙂

As I traveled this route before and I was very familiar with Italy’s train connections I decided to by a ticket for a train to Venice, but only to a place called Portogruaro to save some money. In my experience they check tickets after few stations and they wouldn’t ask again so we could safely stay on board until we get to Venice.

2014-02-15 16.58.342014-02-15 19.29.14Everything went smoothly and we came to Venice in early evening just in time to see a city full of people in carnival mode, we were traveling on a Valentine’s day 🙂2014-02-15 19.31.41

2014-02-15 22.42.51There we got another train, this time to Milano and I bought a ticket to Verona. I was hoping to maybe meet a friend in Verona, but as she didn’t answer I stayed on board and we arrived in Milano around 10pm.

2014-02-15 22.54.23I was really hungry at this time, so I searched for a place to eat and as there was no other options I went to McDonalds, which I usually would never do. After eating my first Big Mac meal in years, I was again surprised how they manage to taste exactly the same no matter where you by them 😛

2014-02-15 23.30.58After a meal, we went back to Milano train station and bought a ticket for a train tomorrow morning to Torino. When you have a train ticket you are aloud to stay and sleep on a train station, so we went to the same spot we used on one of previous trips with a friend. I had a sleeping bag and after feeding Evelyn I lie down to read a book before falling asleep.

2014-02-16 06.40.042014-02-16 06.41.40We got up at 5am to catch a first train at 5:18, this time my ticket said we are going to Vercelli 🙂 but the conductor came after this town so we had to leave the train in a place called Santhia. Never mind as we used this time to go for an early morning walk before taking a next train to Torino, but this time I bought a ticket to our final destination in Italy, Bardonecchia, a ski resort on Italian side of the Frejus tunnel.

2014-02-16 07.26.062014-02-16 10.54.51In Torino we took another short break as we waited for a regional train to our last Italian stop. As we were approaching it, it snowed and we had a beautiful view of the mountains around. When we got to Bardonecchia I quickly went to check if there is a TGV train passing on the way to Paris. And it was in 8 minutes 🙂 I have used this train to cross in France through the Frejus tunnel, several times before and I never had to by a ticket. We boarded and next stop was Modane, but I decided to try my luck again and stay on till Chambery where I would catch a direct train to Grenoble.

2014-02-16 12.59.102014-02-16 13.11.32Again we were lucky and we got ourselves a free ride to Chambery as no one came to ask for a ticket. In a happy mode we waited our last train, for which I bought a full ticket 🙂 I think Evelyn remembered that we were before in Chambery and that we slept on this train station when we went on our big trip around Europe in the beginning of 2013.2014-02-16 13.11.53

2014-02-16 13.47.462014-02-16 13.19.45It was 2pm when we arrived to Grenoble, no one checked our ticket and because I didn’t validate it I will be able to get some money back when I return it as unused ticket.

2014-02-16 14.06.58I was very happy to be in this city surrounded by beautiful, majestic mountains and a place where I have some really good friends.

2014-02-16 14.47.052014-02-16 14.50.57We took a tram and a bus to get to a house where my friend lives now, and surprisingly we found it without a problem. As we were approaching the house, my friend’s dog Aya noticed us and started wagging her tail excitingly and Evelyn responded in a same way. We were surprisingly quick in our arrival to my friend and I was happy after an enjoyable and easy going trip.

2014-02-16 16.12.13Nearby there is a big park so we went for a long walk that Aya and Evelyn fully enjoyed playing with each other.

That was a good start to our new adventure in France.

As I write this I am taking a break in my French lesson, expect me to start ecrit en francais a bientot 🙂

Greets from two of us to all our followers and virtual friends 🙂

DAY 31: From TRNAVA to VIENNA :)

31.01.2013.

Digital StillCameraI had to say Thank you again to my dear host Jozef in TRNAVA. Previous night he  was kind to take us for an extra night as our hitchhiking attempt was unsuccessful. So we had to take a late local train to go back to Trnava from Bratislava.

We shared a breakfast and then he walked with us again to a hitchhiking spot on a beautiful sunny day.

On the way we have seen the  walls of the old town…

Digital StillCamera220px-Spartak_Trnava_current_logo…and a stadium of a local football team Spartak Trnava, whose supporters are known to be the most passionate in Slovakia and the team has a long successfull history in former Czechoslovak league. They have even reached a semifinal of Europan cup in year 1969. This was at a time when football wasn’t infulenced by big money like today.

Digital StillCamera

We say goodbye to our dear friends Jozef and Garofix as we hitchihike for a second day in a row from Trnava to Bratislava

We got a ride in less then 30 minutes and in Bratislava we catched a train to Vienna and saved a bit of money by buying a ticket for half of the journey. In Vienna I had arranged a couch for us with our new host Ash who also has a dog 🙂

Digital StillCameraAs Ash was at work when we arrived, there was time to explore the city center before we met him later at his home.

Digital StillCameraVienna has a rich history and you can see it almost on every step in the old town. As it was under Habsburg rule for many years and later a capital of Austro-Hungarian empire it has many significant buildings from those periods.

Digital StillCamera

One of the most famous and oldest is a St.Stephen’s cathedral or Stephansdom which has been built in 12th century and has since dominated the center of town. Here is a post on Evelyn’s blog about it 🙂

Digital StillCameraAnother well known site is Hofburg imperial palace that was the center of Habsburg empire. Today it is an official seta of an Austrian president. We only had time to see it on the outside.

Digital StillCameraWe took a moment to take a photo together and

We have traveled for one month already and experienced many wonderful stories and I was very grateful for all the amazing people we met on the way.

The trip has already been a big success as we have talked with many people from different organizations working with homeless people and also with some who have other social projects like a kids therapy center OSTOJA in Wroclaw.

I gained a lot of experience from all this encounters and learned a lot about the situation of homeless people around Europe. And now we were getting close to Balkan countries where I come from and I was excited, specially about the trip to SARAJEVO; my birth place.

Digital StillCameraDigital StillCameraAfter that short stop we went to O’Connors old oak pub where my dear friend Gaz works as a head chef. We used to work together in Dublin in ELY restaurant in DUBLIN and now he has been living here for three years already.

Digital StillCameraI remembered my first trip to Vienna last summer; I spend few lovely days with him and his family and he was a saviour on my arrival.

Digital StillCameraThis time he was very busy so I enjoyed the beer while Evelyn was asleep.  The pub was buzzing and it was great to see they are doing soo well.

Digital StillCameraAfter that it was time to meet our host Ash, so went to his place, where Evelyn started playing with his dog 🙂

We then went out for few beers and the night ended very late.

Brno in January… Czech republic

Digital StillCamera

Sunny day in Brno so we went for a long walk around…

and we met a dog too…

DAY 26: all day exploring BRNO and we meet Anna’s friends

After a great night sleep, Evelyn and I went to explore city of BRNO. I got the address of Armady spasa, so we first walked to there.

Digital StillCameraI had a nice chat in a mix of Czech and Croatian with people who work there and again I got an email of the director(pastor) as it was a weekend and he wasn’t there. I will have to contact all this people in Czech republic when I finish a trip and hopefully get some more info about their work.

IMGP1426IMGP1430For the rest of the afternoon we walked around Brno and Evelyn met really nice big dog to play with.

IMGP1434IMGP1436We were at a beautiful viewing spot when we came across this dog an his owner.

IMGP1438Around 5pm we met Anna and went to join her friends for a beer.

IMGP1443Then two of them were taking a flight to London where they live so we went to airport together. After few shots of Becherovka and few beers I was so ready for another good night sleep 😀 😛

IMGP1445IMGP1446But we went to another club and had few more drinks so as we arrived home around 2am I fell asleep in a second…

Evelyn was already napping in a club 😀

DAY 22: WROCLAW-visit to Ostoja and their center for kids with special needs

Our host Adrian used to volunteer in Ostoja therapy center as a music therapist.

Digital StillCamera Digital StillCameraWe went there in early afternoon and on the way we stopped in a park nearby where Evelyn chased the birds and ducks and again like in Berlin she had a short swim in a cold water of an almost fully frozen lake. She was quick to get out and continue running around happily…

Digital StillCamera

Ostoja has different centers and I got a contact from a girl that works in a therapy center for kids with special needs.

Digital StillCameraMargarida was very kind to take some time to show us around. They have different types of therapy for kids and we had a chance to see the dog therapy room and talk to a lady that was working there with a 12yr old kid.

Digital StillCameraDigital StillCameraThe dogs are specially trained, they have soft fur which is great for touch sensitivity of kids. With each kid they have an individual approach depending on their needs.

Digital StillCamera Digital StillCameraShe took us to other rooms, one of them was a stimulation room with music and light features. Margarida was trained in Portugal and this is her second time in Ostoja where she first volunteered few years ago.

Digital StillCameraDigital StillCameraEvelyn was all this time playing with the dogs outside and she really enjoyed it… they were sad when she was leaving…

It was great to see this center and everything they do there. I didn’t have time to visit their center for adults, but maybe some other time.

Digital StillCameraDigital StillCameraLater that day we met with Adrian and few other guys. We had a beer in a cool studio apartment where our host made a nice bar 😀
